This policy explains how Steel Gems collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use the Steel Gems website, installed web app or future Android application at connect.steel-gems.com.
1. Who operates the app
The app is operated by Steel Gems, an industrial material supplier based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. For privacy questions or requests, contact sales@steel-gems.com or call +91 96199 26607.

3. How we use information
- Receive, review, clarify and respond to quotations and material requirements.
- Store and retrieve RFQ attachments for authorised Steel Gems review.
- Provide RFQ reference numbers and status tracking.
- Communicate about products, technical details, inspection, delivery and commercial offers.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the app and its engineering tools.
- Measure aggregated usage, installations and engagement.
- Deliver optional notifications requested by the user.
- Meet applicable accounting, contractual, regulatory or legal requirements.
When you submit an RFQ, we may associate the submission with a pseudonymous browser session, referring source and originating page to understand which resources generate enquiries. Analytics records do not include the requirement text, email, phone or uploaded file contents. RFQ contact details and documents are stored separately in our private enquiry system. Draft specifications carried between tools and the RFQ form are kept in session storage until submitted or cleared.
4. Sharing and service providers
Steel Gems does not sell personal data. Information may be processed by hosting, database, file-storage and security providers that support the app. Optional notifications are processed through Webpushr after permission is granted. If you choose WhatsApp, email or telephone actions, the information you send is handled by the relevant communication provider under its own privacy terms.
We may share RFQ information with authorised Steel Gems personnel and, where necessary to fulfil your request, suitable manufacturers, vendors, testing agencies, inspection agencies, logistics providers or professional advisers. We disclose only information reasonably required for the requested quotation or supply process.
5. Storage, retention and security
RFQ records and uploaded files are stored on access-controlled hosting infrastructure. Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to process the enquiry, maintain commercial and quality records, resolve disputes, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Retention may differ depending on whether an enquiry becomes an order.
We use HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted owner access and reasonable technical safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security; do not upload unnecessary personal, financial, identity or confidential information.
6. Your choices and requests
- You can use general product pages and calculators without submitting personal details.
- You can decline or disable push notifications through your browser or device settings.
- You can clear locally saved drafts and browser data through the relevant tool or browser settings.
- You may request access, correction or deletion of RFQ information by emailing sales@steel-gems.com. Include the RFQ reference and the email used for submission so we can verify the request.
No account deletion link is required at present: the public app does not create customer accounts. If account creation is added later, this policy and the app will be updated with the required account-deletion controls.
7. Children
The app is intended for industrial buyers, engineers, contractors, suppliers and other business users. It is not directed to children, and Steel Gems does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. International processing
Because Steel Gems supports international enquiries and uses online infrastructure, information may be processed in India or other countries where service providers operate, subject to appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.
9. Updates
We may update this policy when app features, service providers or legal requirements change. The effective date shown at the top identifies the latest version.
